Do Thoughts Really Create Our Reality?

I’ve been thinking about this concept lately, and wondering about its validity.

I get that if you have a dismal outlook and expect the worst in all things, then yes, you are, in a sense, creating that reality because you are looking at life with muddy glasses. But does that mean you’ve “created” that life?

That’s a lot of pressure to put on people, don’t you think? It gives the feeling that you should monitor your every thought because if you’re not always only thinking positive, cheerful, manifesting thoughts, then you yourself have created that extra bill, the car accident, the unexpected doctor visit.

Really? So negative thoughts caused a child’s cancer? I don’t buy that.

Look, I work with energy and I know how it can help a person release stuck emotions and issues, but I still have trouble with the concept that we are the masters of our own fate so such a degree that every thought means something. Sometimes a thought is just a thought, isn’t it? As Jessica Dore wrote below, “Every thought is not a message”, which I love. And if that’s true, then doesn’t it stand that every thought also isn’t a building block in our life?*

There’s a situation that has been going in my life for three years now. Yes, I think about it daily because it’s an almost daily occurrence (boy, I can’t spell that word!). Most days it happens, and then some days there’s a reprieve. If I’m thinking about it every single day, how is it that there are days when it doesn’t happen? I’m never thinking positively about it, because it’s something i wish would stop and it doesn’t look like it’s going to, meaning there’s a LOT of negative energy that I focus on the situation…so why isn’t it a 7 days a week/52 weeks a year event?

This is the stuff that keeps me up at night.

What are your thoughts about it?

Don’t forget: even with the change coming to the website, I will still be available to send light. It’s my purpose in life, and I will never stop helping people (and animals!) as long as I am able!

*BTW, if you aren’t following her on Twitter or Instagram, do. You’ll be freaked out at how it seems she’s in your head, but believe me, it’s cheaper than therapy and just as amazing!

2018 Word for the Year

I try to choose a word as my guide, my affirmation, my mantra each year, and this year I didn’t have to think twice because it popped into my head as soon as I thought about next year’s.

It’s thrive. I want to thrive. Not just monetarily, which is the first thing that comes to mind, but in all ways. In my health, my relationships, my day job, my healing work, my writing, my creativity (which has been sadly neglected for way, way too long)…everything. Every single aspect of my life.

I am acting as if today, Yule/Winter Solstice, is New Year’s Day (would make sense, wouldn’t it, as today the days begin to grow longer again here in the Northern Hemisphere) and made one big step towards improving my health. It’s a big step, a hard step, and something that I haven’t been to sustain in the past, so I’m not really going to get into it until around my birthday in March. 🙂

Akhilandeshvari by Tim Foley from Llewellyn’s 2018 Witches’ Companion.

~ I love that image, and the article by Stephanie Woodfield that talks about her. Her name means, “never not broken.” ~

I’m diving back into Leonie Dawson’s world, simply because she has been so wildly successful, and it’s really all been based on the fact that she never pretends to be someone she’s not. I tend to try to fit a persona that I think others expect, and that never goes well for me…hence the revisiting of her website. I can be me quite easily in my locked social media account, but not so well elsewhere. My goal is to change that.

I plan to move my healing website here, simply because of WordPress’s community aspect, which, sadly, Weebly does not have. I’ll be creating a static front page, then migrating the healing the content over here into individual subpages.

There’s more, but you get the jist. Do you choose a word for the year to guide you? What’s your word? Comment below!!

picons25 It’s December. Another year has flown by, and I don’t know about you, but this year was a roller-coaster. And suddenly I’m antsy for 2015 to begin – so much so, that I’m acting as if it has starting today.

I’ve chosen my word for the year; there is a lot I want to change in 2015, and I settled on this word by asking myself how I wanted to feel the year had gone when next December comes along, and “pivotal” encompasses all the changes I want to implement.

I have health and well-being changes to make, attitudes need to be shifted, habits to change, etc. I find myself walking that shoreline between ‘land’ and ‘here be monsters’, and the depths I’m finding myself stepping in to aren’t positive depths: I really need to put myself firmly back on land and root myself in the me I know I am (and was) instead of continuing to step into monster-land. Parts of who I’ve become worry me, others have me completely disappointed in myself, and still others I simply do not like and no longer want as part of my being.

So Happy early New Year, and here’s to a pivotal year! Have you been thinking about your word for the year? What ideas have you come up with?

Oh My LOA!

©Pip MillerFor years I’ve been one of those Law of Attraction naysayers, certain that it never works, especially when it comes to money. Why wouldn’t I? In the last 3 years I’ve gone from having a growing, successful, income-creating healing career to a dead standstill as far as both clients and income goes. I’ve read the books, I written the plans, I’ve done the vision boards…and still I’m where I am. I have had NO reason to believe in the LOA.

Or have I?

A brief discussion about the LOA fed one of those wee hours of the morning times when you’re wide awake, trying to make sense of it all, and out of the blue a thought that had been slithering around in my head every now and again suddenly stopped, reared its head, stared me straight in the eyes and told me quite bluntly, “You have LOA’d yourself out of a career.”

Wait, what?? How? I’m doing everything I can, juggling and learning and trying to figure out where to be to make the most connections…how can you say that?? And then it hit me when I thought about the time frame and when things began to tank: there’s an underlying issue that I haven’t really wanted to acknowledge, and it is the reason I’ve created this money block. There’s a lot of anger, resentment, and fear, and without realizing it on a conscious level, I literally have used the Law of Attraction to stop things from growing so that I wouldn’t have to deal with those feelings. I was floored!

We always think of the positive things the LOA is to bring us; relationships, health, riches…but we don’t think about the negative things that it brings, too. Because if our most repetitive thoughts are ones of negativity, we will create that in our lives. It’s like the passage in the book I wrote about before, “If you want to know what you’re really “praying” for, take a look around your life. You’ll see your innermost thoughts, the real desires of your heart, the prayers no one knows about but you.”

Son of a gun. It works! It really works!

Now to fix it. I’ve got a lot of work to do on myself!

My Own Creation

Not sure who created this I’m reading Coventry Magic by Jacki Smith and in it she mentions this Hindu prayer for the body that I just fell in love with and had to post:

“I recognize you are the temple

in which my spirit and creative energy dwell.

I have created you from my need

to have my spirit manifested on earth

so that I may have this time to learn and grow.

I offer you this food so that you may continue

to sustain my creative energy, my spirit, my soul.

I offer this food to you with love,

and a sincere desire for you to remain free

from disease and disharmony.

I accept you as my own creation.

I need you.

I love you.”

Isn’t that lovely? “I accept you as my own creation.” Wow. And again, wow. We tend to act as if our bodies “happened to us”, not that we created them, but we have, haven’t we? Yes, we were born with certain characteristics and traits, but overall, we are the creators of it’s size, it’s health, it’s feelings or sadness. Our own creation. Have you created what you want? I know I sure haven’t. Hmmm…

It’s All About YOU!

I’ve been reading lately that people don’t purchase things from you when you are the one doing the selling/promoting, which doesn’t make sense on the one hand but does on the other: if I’m the one promoting and pushing my healing and no one else is mentioning it or talking about a session they’ve had with me, then why would you believe that I can do what I say I can do, right?

So. With that in mind, I want to put a little boost out there about some of the wonderful people I’ve had sessions/readings/purchased items from (and this is by no means a complete list, so if your name isn’t on it please don’t be offended!).

Nienna, The Offbeat Goddess, who was one of my first regular clients and has become a cherished friend, from whom I’ve had some of the most mind-blowing card readings!  I’ve also been privileged to test out some of her courses (I think another one is in the works) and highly recommend them!

Sarah, The Fairy (and angel) Messenger, who began working with me and we did trades – her messages for my healing while she was getting massages. 🙂  I’ve had a past-life reading from her, multiple messages from Archangel Gabriel, and one particularly laugh-filled message from my personal fairy ‘guide’.  If you get a reading from her, I highly recommend a phone or Skype one…her laugh will cheer you no end!  Also, she wrote a book about fairies that is in the final stages of being published!

Michele, Midlife Psychic and Mystic as well as owner of The Enchanted Amulet, from whom I received a gorgeous necklace as a birthday present and I’ve also a lovely, very responsive pendulum that I wear as a necklace.  Check out her G+ communities, too!

Donna, a dear friend and co-owner of Awakenings with her wonderful husband Rudy, who has helped me many times (and she was one of the first people on whom I used my new-found Healing-Light!).  She is an outstanding medium, and also gave me a very interesting past-life session with respect to an issue I was having.

Megan, of Intuitive Marketing and Design, who gave me very valuable marketing guidance about my business when I was first starting out on the whole social media ride.

Ronda, the Modern Oracle, who has given me spot-on guidance and with whom I get to geek out about Firefly.  🙂

One last hidden gem: Stacey who isn’t running a business (YET!), but she gives some of the most detailed card readings I’ve ever read, and she receives messages from the angels and has created heart-felt and effective blessings for me concerning various aspects of my life.

Those are off the top of my head, and as I said, by no means a comprehensive list.  These are my recommendations as a client, if this was a list of all the outstanding people I know simply as a friend, it would be miles long!  I’ll be doing this again at a later date!  Please, feel free to mention anyone that you would recommend to others so we can things rolling for them, too!

And now I’m off to send some Prismatic Healing! 🙂
